It’s okay to not be okay I am here to tell you that there is hope…
You may feel anxious, restless, on-edge, noticing that you are often over-thinking and second-guessing your day-to-day decisions. Maybe deep down, you feel different or not good enough to be prioritized or loved, worrying that something bad could happen to you or your loved ones, or that you will be left alone, rejected or betrayed. Sometimes this can show up as physical feelings rather than thoughts such a dreaded pit in your stomach, shaky limbs or nausea: a felt sense that something is wrong.
Feeling misunderstood or judged can add to your pain. You are not sure if you will ever be able to feel “better”, “enough” or “normal” again.
Your reactions didn’t come out of nowhere, trust me. I completely understand and I want you to know that you don’t have to carry these burdens alone. Therapy can help you to face your days with a sense of internal peace and confidence and learn new ways of relating to the world, others and yourself that work for you instead of agaist you.
Together we can implement evidence-based treatment strategies to help address your anxiety while improving your well-being and confidence in relationships.Learn more about my Specialized Anxiety Therapy and Specialized treatment of Trauma-related distress.

I’ve known Sarah Haugh for several years, and what stands out most is how steady and safe they feel to be around. She is deeply respectful of people’s boundaries and never push or rush anyone into sharing more than they’re ready for. Even in everyday life, Sarah is a careful listener—present, nonjudgmental, and genuinely compassionate. She understand how trauma can show up in the body and in relationships, and they naturally create a calm, regulated space. I’d trust Sarah without hesitation with someone I care about who needs a therapist who moves at the client’s pace. Additionally I love hearing her social media post-check them out as you will get a great sense of who she is by her very well done post. About our Methods
We are not the kind of therapist who will just give you cookie-cutter coping skills, expecting that to solve the problem. We are here to provide a more goal-oriented and holistic approach that has led to lasting change for many of my clients. If you have a foundation of skills from past therapy, then we can build off of those by delving more deeply into exploring the root cause of your suffering.
What do I mean by “Holistic Approach”?
Since Anxiety and Trauma manifest in our bodies both psychologically and physically, we will target both avenues in our work together to help you address the root cause of your emotional pain. My multi-modal approach includes nutrition, sleep, somatic and cognitive strategies to ensure no stone lies unturned. Click here to see some of the modalities we can use.
Every one’s reasons for having anxiety are different and unique. However, therapists and the field of psychology best understand anxiety as a combination of genetics, brain chemistry, past trauma, or ongoing stress in daily life. Sometimes it shows up as racing thoughts, panic, or constant worry, even when nothing seems “wrong.” For women and teen girls especially, anxiety is often linked to life transitions, trauma, relationships, or pressure to succeed in motherhood or career aspirations. The good news is anxiety disorders are highly treatable with therapy. At North Shore Therapy, we specialize in helping women and teens in Massachusetts find relief from anxiety and regain balance.
Absolutely! In fact, this is one of the main reasons we do not take insurance. Insurance companies will only cover therapy if someone has a mental health diagnosis. They seek to terminate therapy as soon as that person no longer meets the criteria for that disorder, which is not client/human-centered. And frankly, I find it harmful. I truly believe that everyone can benefit from having a confidential and compassionate adult to help them process life’s ups and downs and learn skills to ride the waves that come our way. And every person should decide for themselves, together with their therapist, when their therapy should start and stop.
That’s one of the most common questions people ask, and it’s completely understandable to want to know what to expect. While I can’t give you an exact number of sessions, I can tell you that the timeline for healing is unique to each person.
Therapy is a very personal journey, and the duration depends on many factors, including your individual goals, the specific nature of your anxiety or trauma, and the pace at which you feel comfortable working. Some people come to therapy for a few months to learn specific coping skills for a particular issue, while others find that longer-term therapy is more beneficial for deeper healing and personal growth. The focus of our work is always on your well-being, and we’ll work at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and effective for you.
